Who Is Alltran Financial?

Alltran Financial, formerly United Recovery Systems, is a debt collection agency. Debt collectors may contact you directly or a loved one about a possible debt you may owe.

First phone
consultation is always free.

Alltran is based out of Houston and is one of the larger debt collection agencies in the U.S. The company collects on unpaid credit cards, personal loans, student loans, and other debts.

While you may not be familiar with Alltran Financial, it may have purchased a charged-off debt from one of your original creditors — typically for pennies on the dollar — and is trying to collect the full amount from you. The collection process typically starts when you’ve been late on a payment for at least 180 days or you’ve paid less than the minimum amount due for that amount of time.

Once it has purchased your debt from a lender, it will report it to the three national credit bureaus as a collection account, which can damage your credit score.

The contact information for Alltran is as follows. Before you call, though, remember they are debt collectors, and calls are often recorded at debt collection agencies.

Alltran Lawsuits

Alltran has been sued multiple times for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

In one proposed class-action lawsuit, a plaintiff alleged that the agency sent a letter implying that their balance could increase without stating whether it was subject to interest, a tactic that’s deceptive and prohibited by the FDCPA.

In another lawsuit filed in Texas, a consumer filed a complaint alleging that Alltran continued calling her after she instructed the agency to stop. They also contacted her employer, disclosed information about the alleged debt to her employer and co-workers, and threatened her with legal action.

Alltran Complaints

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) received eight complaints about Alltran Financial in 2019 and 13 complaints about United Recovery Systems, the agency’s former name. Complaint topics included:

  • Improper use of the consumer’s credit report
  • Attempts to collect a debt not owed
  • Took or threatened to take negative or legal action
  • False statements or representation
  • Communication tactics

According to the Better Business Bureau, Alltran Financial LP is not BBB accredited business. Alltran has a rating of one out of five stars based on the average of six customer reviews on the BBB website.

If you believe Alltran has violated your rights, you can report the agency to your state’s attorney general, the Federal Trade Commission, and the CFPB.

What To Do If Alltran Has Contacted You
